	KEEP THE FIELDS CLEAN! - The first weekend of the season (April 12-13), several fields were left littered with water bottles, tape and other debris by the players who played on them. There is no excuse for this behavior. None whatsoever. Players are guests at fields, whether they are playing at home or away. You leave the field the way you found it, taking away everything you bring there. Coaches, you are responsible for your players. Make them clean up their bench area after the match is over.
	What's Different for Spring 2008? - All Sunday TBA matches are scheduled for the weekend of Week 9, June 14 and 15. These matches can be played earlier per the bylaws for rescheduled games, with advise and consent of the responsible age director. - For Nashoba Cup divisions with 10 teams or less, four teams will qualify for the post-seaon tournament. - There will be play in Boys and Girls High School Nashoba Cup divisions. This level of play is intended for high school age players through U18 interested in soccer at a recreational level. It is NOT intended for teams made up largely of junior varsity and varsity high school soccer players. - U16 NCUP play will not be offered. - GU18 and BU18 teams will play in single flights. The top four teams of each gender will qualify for playoffs to determine the U18 and U19 NVYSL representatives to MTOC. - U18 matches will be consist of two (2) 45-minute halves. U16 and HS NCUP matches will consist of two (2) 40-minute halves. - MTOC will be contested at Mass Youth Soccer's Progin Park in Lancaster, MA on June 27-29, 2008. The good news is that these fields are close to home. However, here is advance notice that the limited parking spaces at the field complex will be managed VERY closely, and that the large majority of players and fans will be taken between the fields and nearby off-site parking via shuttle buses. If your team goes to MTOC, you will need to plan the arrivals of your fans and players very carefully.
	MTOC 2008 Wildcards - At the February 3rd Leagues Committee meeting of all the town soccer league presidents, the MTOC draw awarded the NVYSL wildcard slots at MTOC for BU18, GU18, and BU12 Division 2. Second place finishers in these divisions get to compete at MTOC as our wildcard representatives. The MTOC wildcards fill out the tournament brackets to 12 teams. Leagues are eligible to draw for wildcard slots in any gender/age/division in which there are at least six teams. Wildcards are spread evenly among the ten town leagues competing at MTOC.

	01/14/2008: The NVYSL Spring 2008 calendar is revised as follows: January 20 - Board meeting, U10/U12/U14 final team registration, U16/U18/HS Competition Committee meeting January 25 - U10/U12/U14 team freeze date February 3 - Appeals due for U16/U18/HS placements by Competition Committee February 8 - U16/U18/HS team freeze date March 30 - NVYSL Spring 2008 Conference for coaches and referees April 12-13 - First weekend of NVYSL Spring 2008 season May 24-26 - Memorial Day weekend, no regular scheduled matches June 7-8 - Eighth and last weekend of regular Spring 2008 play June 9-22 - Playoffs for Nashoba Cup and MTOC as necessary June 21-22 - Nashoba Cup Tournament June 27-29 - Massachusetts Tournament of Champions, Lancaster, MA

	11/25/2007: Numerous young men and young women whose soccer careers began in the NVYSL were honored for their outstanding play on college teams in Fall 2007. Several of these players competed on NVYSL teams up through Under 18s. We are equally proud of all the young men and women who continue to play soccer at all levels throughout their lives, with a love of the game of soccer fostered by play in the NVYSL.
